Evaluation of Mineral Resources and Reserves
Evaluation of Mineral Resources and Reserves is, thus, a critical process that arises from information gathering, both in quantity and quality, which enables the correct characterization of a mineralized body.
It is a complex and multidisciplinary process, requiring skills in geology, geostatistics and mineral deposits, following four main stages: preparation, research, model creation and validation. The preparation stage is crucial to ensure the integrity of the database as well as the correlation between the results of the sample concentrations and the control data. The second stage involves a detailed analysis of concentrations within geological domains where statistic and spatial relations are evaluated. The third stage is the creation of 3D geological model of the mineralized body and estimation of the resources The last stage is the validation of the created model.
Estimation of resources and reserves Reports are prepared by Qualified Persons, according to rules stipulated in internationally accepted normative, e.g. the Canadian National Instrument 43-101 (NI 43-101) and the Australasian Code for Reporting of mineral Resources and Ore Reserves – Joint Ore Reserve Committee (JORC).
VISA Consultores’ experience in geological modeling, definition of geological domains, database management and resources estimation ensures the required principles of materiality transparency and competence.
